ROBOTECH SDCC REPORT!
For those of you who couldn’t be here at San Diego Comic Con for the Robotech panel, we’ve put together our announcement hilights
Due to rapid growth in business over the last 18 months, Harmony Gold has hired Billy Davis as Executive VP to oversee future Robotech franchise growth. Billy Davis has a long history with Harmony Gold, serving at Intersound Studios as an executive during the recording of Robotech projects.
LIVE ACTION FILM UPDATE
A video message was shown where Robotech live action film producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton spoke to the attendees and gave them an update on the progress of the film. The screenplay has moved to “final draft” and they are very pleased with director James Wan’s enthusiasm and drive for Robotech. A short IGN video interview was also shown where James Wan talks about his vision for Robotech and remaining true to the essence of the show.
CRACKLE
Robotech is currently streaming for free on Crackle. They are proud to report that Robotech has been the #1 anime title on Crackle and has consistently stayed in the top 10 overall shows on Crackle since launch.
TOYNAMI
Toynami is offering the Super VF-1D as a convention exclusive preorder at San Diego Comic Con, and will ship them at New York Comic-Con. This toy features the VT-102 trainer Veritech from the first episode of Robotech, along with orange themed Super Veritech armor. Toynami is also offering plush Minmei Dolls at their booth #3229, but line up early because they’re limited to 1000 units!
KIDS LOGIC
A new line of Robotech character figures is due out in late 2016, and a prototype featuring Rick Hunter was shown.
KITZCONCEPT
KitzConcept is a new Chinese toy license and their new Super Deformed VF-1S is available for preorder exclusively outside of China through Robotech.com. This figure stands at 5.5 inches tall, is fully transformable and is roughly 50% metal by weight. It also features a light-up LED eye, light up LED gunpod, several posed hands and a display stand. Preorder available now and shipping in August!

80’S TEES
Gary Gorzach from 80’s Tees showed up on the panel to discuss new Robotech apparel. Not only can you get several designs from https://www.80stees.com/robotech but now they have two new Max and Miriya Veritech hoodies available for preorder! Skull Leader Veritech hoodies have just shipped out and are arriving at customer’s homes.
TITAN COMICS
Titan has recently acquired the license for Robotech comics, and not only will they be working on new Robotech comics, but are also planning to re-release old Robotech comics in both physical and digital formats. They worked on new concept art which was shown at the panel.
